Super Actress: Kristie Ekong |
Nollywood has come of age and carved its impact on a worldwide
audience. As the big old names gradually become less visible, movie audiences
in Nigeria and other countries have been rewarded with outstanding performances
and the ever rising profile of pretty Miss Kristie Ekong from Akwa Ibom State of
Nigeria.
Having become a registered actress with the Actors Guild of
Nigeria (AGN) in the year 2009 shortly before her call to the National Youth
Service Corps programme, the young queen of the stage returned with full zeal
and determination to the movie making theater in the year 2011.
Despite the fact that Kristie is constantly on the move to
different film locations within and outside the country, Leisure Quest managed
to grab an interview with her when she signed up with the wave making movie
house: INNERSTREGNTH PRODUCTIONS, founded in 2016 by prolific actress/producer:
Sedater Saviour.
While onset of the movie CHRONICLES OF MMACHI, shot in the
dense forests and hills of Illah in Delta State, Kristie Ekong Ada told Leisure Quest that although she has

ADVICE FOR MOVIE MAKERS
Kristie Ekong emphatically states that working with the
highly talented and experienced Sedater Saviour has made her to realize that
what will take Nollywood to the level of Hollywood is when producers and
directors up their game. Miss Ekong advised movie makers to borrow a leaf from
the production prowess of Sedater Saviour by ensuring that they do proper research
and undergo the right training before venturing into movie production. The
popular actress also said that actors and actresses also require training but affirmed
that training does not necessarily formal
education although being fluent in the languages used in the movies is an
important factor.

CHALLENGES

point (as she recalls) someone even told her she should go back to her state
because she would never make it in the industry. However, the young mega star
said she took this as a challenge and it spore her to put in her very best and
before she knew it, she was acting side by side with virtually all the big
names in Nollywood.
