Tell us a little about yourself
My name is grace Uchechukwu iloegbunam. I am from ukpor nnewi south
Are you a full time actress or you act on part-time basis or as a hobby?
I act as a hobby, it gives me joy doing it.
So why don't you want to act full time?
Because it is stressful combining it with my school. I am a regular student studying theatre arts and media practice.
Ok that makes sense, though you seem to already be on the right path
Yes i am but no knowledge is a waste.
Definitely not
Yes
I am also talking from the point of view that studying theatre arts gives you an added advantage and qualification for a future life in acting if you ever choose to flow along that line
Yes
I read creative and applied arts, and I specialized in graphic design. Are there different fields of specialization in theatre arts or media practice?
No
Ok
We have observed that you upload very hilarious content on social media which has earned you a large followership, what is the major source of your comic inspirations?
I am happy when people are happy that's what inspired me. I notice that it is making so many people happy.
I am among your top 10 fans
Thanks and happy to know.
How do you rate the quality of jokes of the average Naija Stand up Comedian?
The number of people who enjoy it. Take for instance late dede one day may his soul rip. My dad like listening to his jokes.
So will you say that you rating for them is very high, high, average or low?
High
Ok, that is interesting.
Yes
Some people have complained that the trend where Comedians insult guests in the audience, especially foreigners is distasteful, how do you feel about this trend?
I don't think they should take it so seriously because the comedians are doing their business. Life should not be taken too seriously, like the igbo adage that says "uwa bu egwu na amu".
What do you feel Nollywood needs to get to the next level in movie production?
Nollywood need's professionals. There is a difference between someone who studied theater arts and someone who studied mass communication. Thespians know how to carry on their stage business, they know the rules and formula needed to act well on stage.
You do have a strong point there.
Yes
On a final note, what are you views about what social media is today and what future would you wish and expect of social media platforms
Social media has made so much impact on people's lives today. You can use it in showcasing what you do to the world and you can use it to tell world what is happening around them.
So in what direction would you want Social media to grow i.e social responsibility, more educational content, creation of wealth or promotion of cultural values?
All of the above.
Thanks for talking with Leisure Quest.
You are welcome.
